White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn

*This post may contain affiliate links - Please see my disclosure.

So your tree is down, and your Christmas decorations are packed away until later this year ... and you have a few candy canes with no idea of what to do with them! I have the perfect way to use up those last few candy canes laying around your house - White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn!

If you're anything like me, you buy too many boxes of candy canes (every.single.year!!) My kiddos like all the fun flavored ones .... like raspberry, blueberry, cherry, War Heads (super sour ones) , chocolate mint ... and you can easily use those flavors instead of the peppermint flavored ones, if you prefer.

White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn
Printable recipe
Yield: 10-12 servings

10-12 cups air-popped popcorn
10-12 oz. White Chocolate candy melts
2 (or more) candy canes, crushed

Spread enough waxed paper out onto counter to hold all of the popcorn.

Place the popcorn in a bowl large enough to stir the popcorn. Set aside.

Melt candy disks according to package directions. Drizzle over the popcorn and stir to coat. Sprinkle with half of the crushed candy canes; stir.

Spread the mixture out onto the waxed paper and sprinkle with remaining candy cane pieces. Allow to cool completely. The chocolate will re-harden.

Store in an airtight container.

Hi y'all! I'm Jamie - the blogger behind Love Bakes Good Cakes. I am excited to be joining Krista and the other wonderful ladies she's rounded-up to bring you 12 Days of Bloggy Christmas!

Is it just me or does this time of the year seem incredibly busy?! I feel like a dog chasing his tail - I just can't catch up! I know for us, we will be keeping our holiday festivities a little more simple this year. I really wanted to share something that was easy and economical - because I believe there are a whole lot of people with the same thoughts as us.

Jello Popcorn

I had a few different ideas of what to share and finally settled on Jello Popcorn. Some of y'all may be familiar with it - some of you may have never had it! If you're looking for a quick and inexpensive gift idea .... or if you need a fun snack idea, this Jello Popcorn could be your solution!

It's easy to change the colors to suit whatever holiday or occasion - Red and blue for the 4th of July ... or orange and purple for Halloween. Maybe some pastels for Easter? Or you could just use your favorite flavor! Peach popcorn, anyone?! You can keep it all one color - or mix 'em up!

This is very reminiscent of traditional caramel corn - but more fun with all of the colors and flavors! You don't even need a candy thermometer for this recipe! It's so easy!

Jello Popcorn

Jello Popcorn
Printable recipe
Yield: 12-16 servings

8 cups popcorn, popped
4 tbsp. (½ stick) butter
3 tbsp. light corn syrup
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 pkg. (3 oz.) your favorite Jello flavor (I used Cherry and Lime)

Preheat oven to 300°F.

Line a 15x10x1-inch baking sheet with waxed paper. Place the popcorn in a large bowl and set aside.

In a small saucepan, cook the butter and corn syrup until the butter is melted. Add the sugar and Jello. Stir until the Jello is completely dissolved. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Immediately pour the Jello mixture over the popcorn; toss to coat well. Spread into the prepared pan and use 2 forks to spread the mixture out as evenly as you can.

Bake for 10 minutes. Cool. Remove from the pan and break into small pieces.

Very Merry Munch from Piggy in Polka Dots

Hi friends! I have teamed up with Krista from A Handful of Everything and several other fabulous bloggers to bring you 12 Days of Bloggy Christmas! Y'all are in for a serious treat - we're sharing some pretty awesome stuff! Be sure to come back everyday to see what's new!

On the 10th Day of Bloggy Christmas Miss Shelley Gave to me some Very Merry Munch!

Hey guys!  My name is Shelley from Piggy In Polka Dots, and I am so excited to be the guest poster for this 6th day of A Handful of Everything's 12 Bloggy Days of Christmas!  Today I want to share with you one of my very favorite party popcorn mixes to munch and to give.  Not only do I want to share the recipe with you, but I also want to share with you some super cute printable tags that I created to gift this easy to make treat  for friends, coworkers, teachers, neighbors and more!

Very Merry Munch Recipe

2 cups Rice Chex Cereal
2 cups pretzel sticks
1 bag popped WHITE popcorn (Orville Redenbacher's Tender White is perfect)
1 bag of white candy melts
Christmas sprinkles
Christmas M&M's

Click HERE to download and print the tags!

Putting this Very Merry Munch together is extremely simple.

1.  Pop your popcorn.
2.  Carefully pour into a large bowl.  Don't dump the popcorn in all at once or you will also be dumping in your unpopped kernels... you don't want to do that!
3.  Add the cereal and pretzels to the bowl.
4.  Melt and then pour candy melts into bowl all over mixture.
5.  Immediately pour mixture onto a large foil lined baking sheet and IMMEDIATELY sprinkle with M&M's and sprinkles.
6.  Let the Very Merry Munch cool and become firm, then gently break apart and store in an airtight container or package as desired.

How easy is that? You end up with a very festive treat that looks nice and tastes great too!

Well guys, that's my post!  Thank you so much for allowing me to share with you one of my favorite things to make this time of the year!  Everyone always loves it and I think you will too!

I would like to extend a special thank you to Krista for putting together this fabulous blog event!
Don't forget to come back for the Baker's Dozen Link Party on the 13th!  It is sure to be a lot of fun!

Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas,

Shelley
